MSU freshman adds another Big Ten award for the Spartans this season.
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State men's tennis freshman Vuk Radjenovic earns his first Big Ten Freshman of the Week award, as announced Wednesday afternoon by the conference office.
This spring was the first time that the B1G started presenting a Freshman of the Week accolade in addition to the weekly Player of the Week honors.
Radjenovic, native of Belgrade, Serbia, earned this award for his outstanding performance during the team's matches over the weekend against No. 59 Indiana and No. 47 Purdue.Â
Against Purdue, Radjenovic delivered a decisive 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 victory over Maj Premzl to clinch the road win for the Spartans.
The first-year Spartan added another pivotal victory with a hard-fought 6-3, 6-4 triumph over Indiana's Braeden Gelletich.
The freshman finished the weekend undefeated (2-0) in match play against Purdue and Indiana.
Radjenovic is the second Spartan to earn the Freshman of the Week Award in the inaugural season, as freshmen Matthew Forbes collected this award back on February 5, 2025.
This is the seventh weekly award collected by the Spartans so far this season.
Senior Max Sheldon, who earned his second Big Ten Player of the Week award last week, is joined by three fellow Spartans, junior Ozan Baris, redshirt-sophomore Aristotelis Thanos, and freshman Danial Rakhmatullayev, who also have earned this award this season. Â
Sheldon earned the Spartans' first conference weekly award of the season on Sept. 25, while Baris collected the accolade on Oct. 16, Rakhmatullayev picked up the award on Oct. 30. MSU's spring season award collection started on Jan. 22 when Thanos earned the honor.Â
