Men’s Golf Tied for Sixth at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State's men's golf team shot a 12-over 572 and is tied for sixth place among 14 teams after the first day of play at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate.
The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be played on North Carolina's par-70, 7,084-yard Finley Golf Course.
The Spartans finished the first day of play at 12-over par 592, posting back-to-back rounds of 6-over par 286.
Sophomore Lorenzo Pinili is tied for 11th place at 1-over par 141 (69-72) to lead the Spartans. Pinili opened with a 1-under par 69 and was tied for the individual lead during the opening two rounds.
Junior Caleb Bond is tied for 15th place at 2-over par 142 (71-71) and sophomore Lucas Acevedo is tied for 22nd place at 3-over par 143 (70-73).
Freshman Drew Miller is tied for 39th place at 6-over par 146 (76-70) and classmate Juan Velasquez is tied for 65th place at 10-over par 150 (76-74).
Playing as an individual, freshman Joseph Canitano is tied for 47th place at 7-ovper par 147 (74-73)
Sunday's final round tees off at 8:15 a.m.
