Spartan Track & Field Heads South for Virginia Challenge

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State track & field will head to Charlottesville, Virginia for the Virginia Challenge on April 18-19.
The Spartans will kick off the meet with the men's 100-meter prelims, where Carter Bissell is chasing another personal best after achieving one in the season's first meet. The men's and women's distance squads will take to the track with 34 athletes competing across the 1,500m, 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters. The lengthy day will end with the women's and men's 5,000m at 11:15 and 11:30 p.m., respectively.
Field events begin with Elle Adrian, Eriana Hubbard and Valadian Pallett in the women's hammer throw. The final field event of the day is the men's shot put featuring Dalton DeBeau, Colby Morlock, Dillon Morlock and Brendan Vander Meer.
Saturday opens with the 4x100 meter for both the men's and women's teams. The day wraps up with the 4x400 meter relays, closing out a full slate of sprint races and relays.
Field competition continues with Adam Blue in the pole vault, followed by the discus throw, where seven Spartans, including All-American Pallett will compete. Pallett is aiming for another personal best, after throwing 50.99m and placing first at the Spartan Invite. The day concludes with Jalen Nelson in the triple jump.
