Bond Tied for Individual Lead, Men’s Golf Tied for Fourth Place at the Boilermaker Invitational

East Lansing, Mich. – Led by junior Caleb Bond, Michigan State's men's golf team shot an 11-over par 557 over the first two rounds and is tied for fourth place among 18 teams at the Boilermaker Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind.
The two-day, 54-hole tournament is being played on Purdue's par-71, 7,275-yard Ackerman-Allen Golf Course and concludes on Sunday.
The Spartans were in second place after a 4-under par 280 in Saturday morning's opening round and finished the day at 11-under par 557 (280-277).
Purdue leads the field at 19-under par 549 (281-268), with Marquette second at 15-under par 553, Michigan in third place at 12-uncer par 556, while the Spartans are tied for fourth place with Notre Dame.
Bond led Michigan State on Saturday, leading the field with 12 birdies over 36 holes, and is tied for the individual lead at 7-under par 135 (67-68). Bond had six birdies in each round.
Freshmen Drew Miller and Julian Menser are tied for 20th place with scores of 1-under par 141. Miller shot a 1-over par 72 in the opening round and bounced back with a 2-under par 69 in the second round. Menser went 1-under par in the morning 18 and shot an even-par 71 in the afternoon.
Sophomore Lorenzo Pinili is two shots back, tied for 41st place at 1-over par 143 (71-72), while sophomore Lucas Acevedo is tied for 64th place at 5-over par 147 (78-69), including a 2-under par 69 in the afternoon session.
The Spartans tee off on Sunday morning at 9 a.m., starting on hole No. 4, playing alongside Notre Dame and Indiana.
