MSU looks to repeat its regular-season win as the Spartans face the Trojans at the Big Ten Tournament in Columbus on Friday.
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State men's tennis is the No. 3 seed in the Big Ten Tournament and the Spartans are gearing up for a high-stakes showdown with No. 6 seed USC in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament on Friday, April 25. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET at Ohio State's Auer Tennis Complex in Columbus, Ohio.
This marks the second meeting of the season between the Spartans and the Trojans, who are competing in their inaugural Big Ten campaign. In the first encounter on April 11 in Los Angeles, Michigan State edged USC in a thrilling 4-3 road victory earlier this spring.
MSU enters the tournament with momentum following a 4-2 statement win over in-state rival No. 25 Michigan on April 19 at the MSU Indoor Tennis Center.
This marks the second-straight year that MSU is the No. 3 seed, and is the Spartans' first time in three years not playing a team from Indiana in their opening action, after playing 11th-seeded Indiana last year and No. 10 seed Purdue in the 2023 opener.
The 2025 Big Ten Tournament runs from April 24–27 and will be streamed live on B1G+. The winner of Friday's match-up will advance to the semifinals on Saturday to face the winner of the Michigan/Northwestern and UCLA match at 1:30 p.m. ET.
