EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State junior linebacker Jordan Hall has been nominated for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and has also been named to the Wuerffel Trophy Watch List.
For the second consecutive year, the Wuerffel Foundation is partnering with Allstate to unite college football's top community service honors through the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®. Eleven student-athletes from the Watch List will be named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and serve as semifinalists for the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy.
The 2025 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List recognizes a record 116 college football players from across the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) who exemplify community service, academic excellence and athletic achievement.
Widely regarded as college football's premier award for community service, the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy celebrates student-athletes who use their platforms to serve others and create positive change. Named after 1996 Heisman Trophy winner and University of Florida quarterback Danny Wuerffel, who turned his football success into a lifelong mission of service, the award reflects his legacy of leadership and humanitarianism. This year marks the 21st anniversary of the trophy's founding.
"Every year, I'm deeply moved by these student-athletes," said Danny Wuerffel. "They lead with their heart. Each of our nominees is making a real difference in the lives of others, and their stories remind us what true greatness looks like."
A rising star in both academics and athletics at MSU, Hall is already making a significant impact as a student-athlete. The two-time letterwinner has recorded 91 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks in 23 career games, including seven starting assignments at linebacker. In the classroom, Hall was a recipient of the Dean's List honor in Spring 2023 and was named to the Academic All-Big Ten Team in 2024.
His passion for leadership and personal development is also highlighted by his two-year involvement in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and his attendance at the 2024 Black Student-Athlete Summit in Los Angeles. The criminal justice major actively participates in numerous outreach initiatives including March is Reading Month, Team Impact and the Jordan Hall Toy Drive, and he also hosts an annual Youth Football Camp. In addition, Hall went on a mission trip with Athletes in Action to South Africa in March 2025.
During the 2025 Spartan Academic Excellence Gala, Hall was named the male recipient of the Harold & Raynor Shnider Office of the Provost Award, which is presented to a freshman or sophomore student-athlete who embodies the characteristics promoted by Student-Athlete Support Services, with emphasis placed on academic performance, community involvement, and leadership ability.
A native of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Hall recently represented Michigan State at the 2025 Big Ten Football Media Days in Las Vegas.
Hall and the Spartans will open the 2025 season on Friday, Aug. 29 against Western Michigan at 7 p.m. in East Lansing.
