Sophomore earns conference recognition following standout fall campaign.
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State men's tennis sophomore Mitchell Sheldon has been named to the Big Ten Players to Watch list ahead of the upcoming spring season, announced Friday by the conference office.
Sheldon, originally from Arlington Heights, Illinois, enters the spring portion of the 2025-26 season following a strong fall campaign in both doubles and singles action. Sheldon and Spartan senior David Saye captured the Big Ten doubles championship in November. They enter the spring currently ranked No. 76 in the nation.
Last season as a freshman, Sheldon was frequently paired with his older brother, Max Sheldon, for doubles play, gaining valuable experience. This fall, he showcased his emerging talent alongside another veteran leader in Saye.
Sheldon's fall success has put him in the spotlight for the spring slate as he looks to build momentum early alongside the rest of the team.
