Norman, Okla. - Michigan State women's basketball greeted the media on Thursday in Norman, Oklahoma, ahead of their NCAA First Round game against Colorado State on Friday.
The Spartans arrived in Norman on Wednesday afternoon to sunny skies and warm weather. On Thursday, Michigan State started the day meeting with members of the media at Lloyd Noble Center. Senior forward Grace VanSlooten and redshirt-sophomore guard Kennedy Blair started on the dais. MSU head coach Robyn Fralick ended the media portion of the day.
"A lot of credit to the staff and people at Michigan State and players who have believed and worked and continued to improve from going from a nine seed to a seven seed to a five seed. Proud of the trajectory," Fralick said. "We had a two-week break between the Big Ten Tournament and this game. What we talked a lot about during that segment of time was 'win the wait.' Then over this particular piece, 'win the weekend.' You can't zoom out. You've got to really be able to zoom in. The game requires that, but those are the things we've been rallying around."
Third-year head coach Robyn Fralick is the first-ever Michigan State women's basketball head coach to lead the Spartans into the NCAA Tournament in their third seasons at the helm of the MSU program.
No. 5-seeded Michigan State takes on No. 12-seeded Colorado State on Friday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. ET. The winner will take on the victor between No. 4 Oklahoma and No. 13 Idaho on Sunday, March 22.
