MSU Falls In Series Finale at Ohio State

East Lansing, Mich. – Ohio State closed out a series sweep over Michigan State with a 10-0 Sunday victory in five innings.
Payton Conroy had a second-inning single, and Britain Beshears and Zoie Bernard added back-to-back base hits in the fifth inning when the Spartans were looking to put together a late rally; MSU left the bases loaded in the fifth and stranded five overall on the day.
The Buckeyes (15-18, 5-4 B1G) took a big lead early on two homers in the first two innings, and blew things open with a six-run second. Sami Bewick and Kiki Estrada both contributed three hits and three RBI, with Taylor Cruse adding three RBI on a 1-for-2 effort at the plate.
Jenna Molk threw for the Buckeyes for the third consecutive day; she went four innings and limited the Spartans to just one base hit. Jacey Schuler took the loss after allowing a pair of runs in the first inning; Alex Starr threw the final 2.1 innings, striking out two and surrendering a pair of hits and two earned runs. MSU falls to 13-20 overall and 0-9 in the Big Ten.
The Spartans have a busy week at home - MSU hosts Central Michigan (Tuesday) and Detroit Mercy (Wednesday) before starting a three-game B1G series at Secchia Stadium on Friday.
