EAST LANSING, Mich. – Junior goaltender Trey Augustine, freshman forward Porter Martone and senior forward Charlie Stramel each earned CCM/AHCA All-America honors on Friday night, as announced by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA). Augustine and Martone were named First Team All-Americans while Stramel was selected to the second team.
Michigan State's three All-America selections are the most of any team, marking the second-straight season that MSU has finished with three honorees. The Spartans placed multiple student-athletes on the first team for the eighth time in program history. It's the second All-America honor of Augustine's career and the first for Martone and Stramel.
Augustine, also named the Mike Richter Award winner on Friday night as the top goaltender in NCAA Division I men's hockey, finished his junior season ranked No. 3 nationally in wins (24), No. 6 in save percentage (.929) and No. 11 in goals-against average (2.11). With Augustine in net the Spartans scoring defense ranked No. 4 nationally and MSU's penalty kill unit led all Big Ten programs in conference action (.802). Augustine concluded his 2025-26 campaign with an 11-5-0 record against ranked opponents and a 10-2-0 record against teams ranked in the Top Five.
He's the first two-time First Team All-American for Michigan State since Ryan Miller did it in 2001 and 2002, and is one of only two players in program history to be named a First Team All-American on the ice and an Academic All-American off the ice joining Ron Scott (1982 and 1983).
Martone is the only freshman in program history to earn first team honors and is one of only two freshmen to be named a First Team All-American this season (Ethan Wyttenbach, Quinnipiac). Martone's 50 points rank fifth all-time by a freshman at MSU and his 25 goals ranked second to only Rod Brind'Amour's 27 in 1988-89.
Martone's 0.71 goals per game ranked No. 2 nationally and his 1.43 points per game were No. 3. He was a First Team All-B1G selection after posting 17 multi-point performances which included five games of three or more points.
Stramel was a First Team All-B1G selection and a Hobey Baker Memorial Award Top 10 finalist alongside Augustine. His career-best 44 points as a senior ranked second on the team and his seven game-winning goals tied for the nation's best. Stramel was No. 2 nationally in face-off wins (482), No. 15 in points per game (1.19), No. 24 in goals per game (0.51) and No. 29 in assists per game (0.69).
Stramel's +29 rating led all Spartan skaters and tied for fourth nationally. He was a key contributor to both MSU special teams units, playing on the top power play line that ranked No. 2 nationally in efficiency (.302) and the top penalty kill unit that led the Big Ten (.802) and ranked No. 19 nationally (.823).
