Why is the Breslin Center Seat Adjustment Necessary?As budgetary resources for MSU Athletics become increasingly reliant on donations, seat-related gifts, sponsorships, and ticket revenue, it is important to have a method of adjusting seat locations based on a priority system to properly steward those who are supporting the program. MSU Athletics is a self-supporting entity, receiving no financial support from the university's general fund. Each year, through the generous support of donors, MSU Athletics provides over $13 million in scholarship support. In addition, facility upgrades and operational expenses for 25 varsity sports are aided by donor support. How will the seat selection process take place?For the majority of season ticket holders, the seat selection process will take place online. The technology used for the online process was developed by Ballena Technology, Inc. Ballena is the leader in the field of venue visualization and seat selection. Outlined below are the three options that you have has for selecting your seats: Â Â Â 1.)ONLINE:: *RECOMMENDED*Selecting seats online is as easy as 1-2-3...log on, select section, select seat. Done! If you have purchased anything online, then you will find this simple to do! Â Â Â 2.) ONLINE WITH PHONE ASSISTANCE FROM THE SPARTAN FUND: The Spartan Fund will be prepared to assist you over the phone. You may call at your appointed time and a Spartan Fund representative will assist you in selecting your seats. Â Â Â 3.) ONLINE AT SPARTAN STADIUM WITH ASSISTANCE FROM THE SPARTAN FUND: If you wish to select your seats in person you can do so at Spartan Stadium. We ask that you arrive to Spartan Stadium 30-45 minutes in advance of your appointment time. PLEASE NOTE: We can only guarantee those who are selecting seats online will be able to select at their assigned appointment time. Those individuals choosing to select seats over the phone or in person need to be aware that they may encounter busy signals or lines; therefore may not be able to select precisely at their selection time. We will do our best to prevent delays but cannot guarantee on-time selection via phone or in person. The best way to avoid delays is to select seats ONLINE! How do appointment times work?Seat selection appointments will begin on Monday, June 16, 2014, based on your Men's Basketball Seat Ranking. Your Men's Basketball Seat Ranking is based on your cumulative Spartan Points total among other men's basketball season ticket holders. Appointments times will be scheduled Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. There will be a temporary halt in the seat selection process the week of June 30 - July 4 due to the 4th of July holiday. Appointment time will be scheduled approximately 3-5 minutes apart. We encourage you to login prior to your selection time to see which seats are currently available. When your appointment time arrives, you will be able to login, and click on your desired seat--it will automatically be added to your cart. You will have 30 minutes from the time that you select your first seat to complete your selection. If you have not completed your selection within 30 minutes, you will simply need to login again. Allowing 30 minutes to select your seats ensures fairness and makes it impossible for other STH to "hold" seats during their appointment time. What is my Men's Basketball Seat Ranking, and how is it in relation to others? Can I improve my Ranking?Please visit your Go Green account by visiting: www.msuspartans.com/spartanfund. Click on "Make a Gift" to access your account by logging in. Your Go Green account allows you to view your Men's Basketball Ranking. your most up-to-date Spartan Points total, and to utilize the Points Calculator. Click on "My Spartan Points" within your Go Green account to access your points breakdown and to view the Points Calculator. The Points Calculator provides you with the opportunity to see your current Men's Basketball Seat Ranking and to see how your ranking may change if you make a gift to the MSU Athletics - the easiest way to influence your Spartan Points total and your Men's Basketball Seat Ranking. If you find a discrepancy with your Spartan Points, you may submit a Request for Review by March 14, 2014. A link to the Request for Review Form can be found on the "My Spartan Points" page within your Go Green account. Will I feel rushed when trying to select my seats?We encourage you to logon prior to your appointment time so that you can familiarize yourself with which seats are available. This way when your appointment time arrives you are ready with your selection! As soon as the seat selection process begins on June 16 you can monitor seat availability during the days and weeks prior to your assigned appointment time. Therefore, when your appointment time you can know precisely which seats you would like to select and with a few clicks you can complete your seat selection within a minute. It's that easy. What is the maximum number of seats that I can select?You will be allowed to renew the number of seats that were purchased in the 2013-14 season, as long that the amount is not in excess of the limits listed below:
*subject to availability Will I purchase season tickets and make a donation during the seat selection process?No. The Spartan Ticket Office will provide information on how to renew your men's basketball seats after the seat adjustment and prior to the start of the 2014-2015 men's basketball season. Separately, the Spartan Fund will provide information on how you can make your seat-related gift (if applicable). As a reminder, the deadline to influence your Spartan Points total is May 1, 2014. What if I am unavailable at my appointment time?If you are unavailable to select seats at your appointment time, you may provide your log-in information to a trusted individual (proxy) to make the selection for you, or you may contact the Spartan Fund at 517-432-4610 to make prior arrangements. You will be asked to fill out the Seat Selection Assistance Form and return to the Spartan Fund by June 13, 2014. Will I be able to stay in the same seat location or sit with the same friends I have sat with in the past?Previous seat locations cannot be guaranteed due to the selection of seats based on the Spartan Points system. Individuals within a group must file a written request with the Spartan Fund from all parties involved by May 1, 2014. Priority will be based on the individual with the lowest Spartan Points total among the group. Please find address on back.
