2020 (REDSHIRT-FRESHMAN): Made seven appearances, all in relief, posting a 1-1 record with 12 strikeouts in 7.1 IP ... Picked up first collegiate win on March 1 vs. Ball State, coming in out of the pen in the top of the seventh with MSU trailing 6-3, and rang up back-to-back strikeouts for the first two outs, but then allowed a single, walk and hit-by-pitch to load the bases, but got out of the jam with a flyout to end inning and earn the win as MSU went ahead in bottom of inning ... Day before on Feb. 29 vs. Western Carolina, got called out of the bullpen in the seventh, with two on and two outs with MSU leading 4-2, and chalked up a strikeout to thwart the threat ... Rang up career-best three Ks in 2.0 IP vs. USC-Upstate (March 4), part of posting two or more strikeouts in five of seven outings ... Made Spartan debut on Feb. 16 vs. Morehead State and went 2.0 IP with two punchouts and only yielding one hit ... Also had one outing without a hit and four appearances without a run of any kind ... Fielded position with two assists.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a four-year letterwinner for the Pleasant Valley High School Spartans for head coach Bill Sandry ... A two-time all-district honoree, earning first-team accolades as a junior after earning second-team honors as a sophomore ... Also an honorable mention All-Metro selection as a junior, as well as a second-team all-conference honoree ... Posted a 4-1 record in eight starts as a junior with a 1.86 ERA with 68 strikeouts in 46 IP, posting a .220 opponent batting average ... Tallied a 2-4 mark in eight starts as a sophomore, posting a 2.98 EAR with 57 Ks in 42 innings pitched, while logging a .174 opponent batting average ... Played summer league for PG Select Black, allowing one earned run in 19 IP ... Rated as the No. 5 pitcher and No. 7 overall player in Iowa ... PERSONAL: Son of Matt and Jamie Christophersen ... Great grandfather played in the Chicago Cubs’ minor league system during the 1940s before going off to war ... Chose Michigan State because he resonated with then-MSU pitching coach Skylar Meade’s pitching philosophy and was impressed with the baseball program’s culture, as well as being born and raised in Michigan, he’d always been drawn to MSU as it is one of the top universities in the country for academics and athletics ... Intends on majoring in finance with future aspirations of being a financial advisor/analyst ... Chose the Spartans over Bowling Green, Dayton, Illinois State, Iowa Western and Western Illinois.
