Andrew Bindelglass, who joined the Michigan State football program as a defensive analyst in January 2024 and served as an assistant linebackers coach in 2025, is in his first season as rush ends coach for the Spartans in 2026.
During the 2025 season, Bindelglass directly worked with Michigan State's top two tacklers, Jordan Hall and Wayne Matthews III, and they both earned honorable mention All-Big Ten accolades.
He previously worked with current Spartan defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Joe Rossi for five seasons at Minnesota (defensive graduate assistant in 2019-21; defensive quality control in 2022-23). Minnesota’s defense ranked among the top 10 in the FBS in total defense three times (No. 3 in 2021, No. 8 in 2022, No. 10 in 2019) and scoring defense twice (No. 4 in 2022, No. 6 in 2021) under Rossi’s direction in Minneapolis.
Before arriving to Minnesota for the 2019 season, Bindelglass was at Bryant University as an outside linebackers coach through winter workouts and spring practice. He spent the 2018 season as the defensive quality control coach at Holy Cross.
Prior to Holy Cross, Bindelglass served as the assistant secondary coach at Tufts. In addition to working with the secondary, he was also the director of alumni relations and the program’s video coordinator.
Bindelglass played cornerback at Tufts and was also a student assistant coach before transitioning into a full-time coaching role after graduating in 2017 with a degree in political science.
