Brandon Jordan enters his second season on Mel Tucker’s defensive staff after being hired as Michigan State’s pass rush specialist in January 2022.

Jordan, who has been in coaching since 2012, has specialized in training elite defensive linemen the past few years while serving as CEO of Brandon Jordan Trench Performance, working with more than 200 players on NFL rosters, including Pro Bowlers Jadeveon Clowney, Cameron Heyward, Chandler Jones, Von Miller and T.J. Watt.

During Jordan’s first season in East Lansing in 2022, he helped develop the pass rushing skills of Jacoby Windmon, who recorded a career-high four sacks in his first game as a Spartan in the season opener against Western Michigan. Windmon was a three-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and two-time National Defensive Player of the Week while leading the nation with six forced fumbles in addition to collecting 10.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks.

Jordan started his collegiate coaching career in 2012 as an assistant offensive line coach at his alma mater, Missouri S&T, coaching the tackles. He helped the Miners to a 10-1 record and 7-1 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Jordan then took a graduate assistant position at McKendree University in the spring of 2013, working with the tight ends and offensive line. In the fall of 2013, he moved to Austin Peay to serve as a graduate assistant, coaching the offensive line and tight ends. He worked with the Governors’ defensive line during spring practice in 2014 and was named the program’s full-time defensive line coach for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

After two years at Austin Peay, Jordan spent three seasons as the defensive line coach (2016-18) at John Ehret High School in New Orleans before founding his own training company, Brandon Jordan Trench Performance, in December 2018. During the 2021 offseason, he took part in the NFL Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship program with the Arizona Cardinals.

A native of New Orleans, Jordan lettered one season (2006) at Ouachita Baptist before transferring to Missouri S&T, where he was a three-year letterwinner (2007-09) as an offensive tackle for the Miners. He was a starter during the 2007 season, but was forced to miss a majority of the season after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 2. He returned to the starting lineup for the 2008 season and helped the Miners win the Great Lakes Football Conference championship.

Jordan graduated from Missouri S&T in 2009 with a bachelor’s of science degree in business management and information systems. He transferred to Northern Michigan in 2010 for his final year of eligibility, but was unable to play for the Wildcats due to an injury.

Following his collegiate playing career, Jordan played football overseas. He was selected to represent the United States in the IFAF World Championship of American Football and also competed professionally, playing arena football for the Norway Bergen Storm and Paris La Courneuve Flash. He also went to training camp with the Arena Football League with his hometown New Orleans Voodoo.

Jordan played on the offensive line at Archbishop Shaw High School in New Orleans and graduated in 2005.
