Jake Chaney is in his first season at Michigan State in 2026 as an assistant defensive line coach. He will work directly under Spartan defensive line coach Winston DeLattiboudere III.
A four-year letterwinner at Wisconsin as an inside linebacker from 2021-24, Chaney played in 45 career games for the Badgers, including 11 starts. He recorded 174 career tackles, including 15 TFLs and five sacks, including a career-high 80 tackles with seven TFLs and three sacks as a junior in 2023.
Originally from Cape Coral, Florida, Chaney was named the District 7A Player of the Year his junior season at Lehigh High School in 2019, and followed that campaign with 117 tackles, including 12 TFLs and five sacks, his senior season in 2020.
Chaney’s father, James, is the Director of Player Development at Colorado under Deion Sanders.
