AS A SENIOR: Versatile fifth-year player saw time in the rotation at left guard . . . also listed as the back-up center . . . had three career starts to his credit, including two as a senior (California, Wisconsin) . . . saw action in all 13 games . . . a former walk-on who earned a scholarship each of the last two seasons . . . started his second career game at left guard in season opener at California . . . played a majority of the game at center at Northwestern, filling in for starter Joel Nitchman, who left the game in the second quarter with an injury . . . picked up the start at left guard vs. Wisconsin . . .
