Bobby Pleasant is in his second year at Michigan State as the director of player support following six years with the Oregon State football program as the team’s On Campus Ambassador.
Pleasant mentors and acts as an advocate for student-athletes, strengthening and enhancing their experience while providing advice and counsel in areas related to life skills, accountability and personal development. He also works with on-campus and off-campus partners to provide resources and tools for student-athletes.
Pleasant’s duties at Oregon State included football team security, law enforcement liaison, mentoring student-athletes, and assisting with day-to-day operations.
Pleasant, who had a 30-year career in law enforcement with the San Bernardino County Sherriff’s Department, has held positions as a Sheriff’s Sergeant, member of the S.W.A.T. team, and a background investigator. He has twice been selected the officer of the year at law enforcement stations on the Sheriff’s Department.
Pleasant is a member of numerous committees and was a youth football coach and mentor for 20 years in the Inland Empire of California. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from San Jose State University and an associate of arts degree in business supervision from Chaffey Community College.
