Chris Plaster, who has more than 15 years of experience as a football video coordinator, is in his second year as the Director of Football Video for the Spartan football program.
Plaster spent one season at Colorado in 2019 as the director of video analysis before joining head coach Mel Tucker in East Lansing in 2020.
Plaster’s first experience in the Big Ten was serving as the football video coordinator at Illinois for the 2018 season. He arrived in Champaign after a brief stint as the football video coordinator at Texas-San Antonio (UTSA) earlier in 2018.
Before rejoining the college ranks, Plaster was a video assistant in the NFL for the Miami Dolphins from 2011-18. He also spent two years (2009-11) as the video director of the United Football League.
Plaster’s first collegiate video coordinator position came at North Alabama from 2008-09, which he took after serving at Houston as a video assistant from 2007-08.
Plaster’s first postgraduate experience was serving as a football operations assistant/video coordinator for the Georgia Force of the Arena Football League (2004-05) before moving on to become the assistant video coordinator for the Nashville Kats of the AFL (2006-07).
Plaster graduated in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in coaching and sports administration from Southern Mississippi.
