McKinzie Freimuth

Four-year Spartan softball letterwinner McKinzie Freimuth will serve as the softball program's student assistant coach for the 2016 season.
Freimuth recently wrapped up her collegiate career, where she played in 193 career games, all at first base (192 starts). In her career she hit .259, with 75 runs, 134 hits, 16 doubles, five triples, and 35 RBI. One of the top-fielding first basemen in the country, she owns a career fielding percentage north of .990. As a senior, she posted a .997 fielding percentage, committing just one error in 338 chances, and recording 320 putouts. She was third in the Big Ten in double plays turned (19), despite missing six games with injury.
A three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, Freimuth was a Big ten Distinguished Scholar as a senior in 2015. She will complete her degree in Kinesiology in May 2016.
