2023 (Freshman): Coxswain of the second novice eight for all spring races … In the 3V8+ races at the Sunshine State Invitational (3/31-4/1), took sixth in the first race (7:09.75) and fifth in the second (7:17.14) … Raced as a 4V8 at the Big Ten Invitational (4/7-8), and earned a first, second, and third-place finish – all against Big Ten boats … Earned two victories at the Spartan Invitational (4/15), defeating Miami’s 3V8 (7:25.59) in the morning and Eastern Michigan’s novice eight entry in the afternoon (7:32.41) … Finished third behind two Ohio State entries but defeated Indiana at the Ohio State Invitational (4/22), clocked in a time of 7:57.8 … In a finals-only event at Women’s Sprints (4/30), competed in the fourth varsity eight race and earned bronze (7:17.290), behind Northeastern and Columbia … Took sixth at the Big Ten Championships (5/14), clocked in 7:22.812.
PRIOR TO MSU
Was a four-year letterwinner in varsity cross country and track & field... Ran the fifth fastest 5k by a freshman in school history... Was all-league in track in her first two seasons... A dominant powerlifter, Swartz set school records in multiple events over the course of her high school career... Served as a team captain for track, cross country and powerlifting in her senior campaign... Was an NHS Scholar and a Michigan Resident Scholar... Earned All-State Academic accolades in cross country and track.

Daughter of Sarah and Joe Swartz ... Has one younger brother, Blake... Her grandfather, Tom Fisher, was a member of the varsity sailing team at Georgetown, graduating in 1969... Was a student athletic trainer for four years in high school... In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors and doing anything active... She is a dog lover and a country music fan... Majors in elementary education and aspires to be a fifth grade teacher.
