Bio
2011: Has seen action in the varsity eight and competed with the second varsity eight as well... Recognized as a CRCA Scholar Athlete... Captured a Big Ten gold medal in the varsity eight when the Spartans took first place in the race with a time of 6:17.12, a 3.41-second margin of victory over Ohio State at the Big Ten Championships ... Advanced to the Grand Finals at the NCAA regatta where the varsity eight rowed to a sixth-place finish with a time of 6:36.12... Helped the Spartans capture the Dale England Cup with a sweep of Boston University, Gonzaga and Indiana and posted a 4.1 second victory over the Hoosiers... Posted a Big Ten win over Minnesota with the second varsity eight... Swept Virginia, USC and Texas with winning margins of 5.6 seconds, 6.4 seconds and 4.5 seconds with the second varsity eight... Notched a 3.7 second victory over No. 17 Washington State with the varsity eight.
2010: Rowed with both the second varsity eight and the varsity four... Victorious over Michigan and Notre Dame by margins of 4.1 and 20.3 seconds in the 2V8... Helped row the varsity four boat to a second place finish at the Big Ten Championships with a time of 7:17.02.... Defeated Gonzaga and Buffalo with the second varsity eight... Notched a 4.6 second victory over Cornell in the second varsity eight... Rowed to a third place finish in the varsity four with a time of 7:30.88 in the 2010 South/Central Sprints.
Prior to MSU: Lettered in swimming all four years of high school.... Also lettered in varsity sophomore her junior and senior years in softball.
Personal: Born July 2, 1990 ... Daughter of Mike and Peggy Walkowiak ... A kinesiology major.
