2014: Finished second by three seats to Iowa, but had open-water over third-place Penn in the second varsity eight at the Clemson Invitational (4/19)... Defeated Rutgers and Boston in the second varsity eight race (3/28)... Posted a win in the second varsity four by a length over Kansas at the Oak Ridge Cardinal invitational (3/15).
2013: In the season-opening races at home (March 30) in the bow seat of the second novice eight, fell to Michigan by 11 seconds in the morning session but rebounded with an open-water win over Notre Dame in the afternoon ... Rowed in the three seat of the second novice eight in a four-boat race with Big Ten foes Michigan, Ohio State, and Indiana (April 13) when conditions forced a change from a double-dual format. Finished third in a time of 6:92.4, nearly two lengths ahead of fourth-place Ohio State ... Lined up with some of the best crews in the country at the Clemson Invitational (April 20-21). Appeared in the two seat in the second novice eight boat, which finished second to Texas in each race, but ahead of Ohio State, Clemson, and Duke. Posted times of 7:16.8 in the morning and 6:57.6 in the afternoon, closing the gap on the Longhorns by more than three seconds by the afternoon session ... The Sunday racing for the novice eights at Clemson was wiped out due to weather conditions ... Raced Big Ten foes Minnesota and Wisconsin in the final week of the regular season (May 5), and rowed to a second-place finish (7:11.7) as the five seat in the novice eight. Finished four seats behind host Wisconsin, and six seats ahead of Minnesota ... Rowed in the seven seat in the second novice eight which earned a bronze medal at the Big Ten Championships (May 19). Crossed the line in 7:22.64, behind Wisconsin and Michigan. The Spartans finished fourth in the team standings with 85 points, behind champion Ohio State, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
