NOTES:
* Freshman goaltender Ryan Miller has two shutouts in three career starts. He is the first Spartan goaltender to post back-to-back shutouts since Ron Scott (Oct. 22-23, 1982, both vs. Illinois-Chicago).
* Michigan State has scored its first goal of the game on the power play in four of its last five games.
* Sophomore right wing Adam Hall has six goals in the last six games this year and 12 goals in his last 12 games dating back to last season. He has scored the first goal of the game three times this year, all in the last four outings.
* At least one freshman has had a point in all seven Michigan State games this season.
* Shawn Horcoff scored three goals this weekend and extended his point-scoring streak to six games (3-10-13 in that time). His unassisted goal late in the second period marked his 100th career point. He had a hand in four of eight MSU goals this weekend and has had a hand in 13 of 27 of Michigan State?s goals this season.
* Michigan State is outscoring opponents 12-2 in the second period this year.
* Junior defenseman Brody Brandstatter scored his first career goal.
