Notes:
* Michigan State now has an eight-game winning streak and has started the season 8-0 in CCHA play. That equals the best conference start in school history (also 1986-87).
* Freshman goaltender Ryan Miller became the first Spartan goaltender ever to record three consecutive shutouts. He extended his shutout streak to 181 minutes, nine seconds, and tonight broke the school record for longest shutout streak, previously held by Ron Scott (156:22 in October of 1982).
* Michigan State has scored first in each of its last eight games.
* Senior center and team captain Shawn Horcoff has matched his career-best point-scoring streak with at least one point in each of the last eight games. He has averaged over two points per game (4-13-17) in that time.
* Sophomore right wing Adam Hall has scored nine goals in the last eight games this year and 15 goals in his last 14 games dating back to last season. Hall leads the Spartans with nine goals this year.
* In CCHA play, Michigan State has scored four short-handed goals and allowed only three power-play goals.
