NOTES:
* MSU won its eighth Great Lakes Invitational and its third in a row.
* SR C Shawn Horcoff was named the tournament?s Most Valuable Player. Joining Horcoff on the all-tournament team were SR D Mike Weaver and JR G Joe Blackburn. The other selections were Michigan?s Dave Huntzicker (D) and Mark Kosick (F) and Michigan Tech?s Jarrett Weinberger (F).
* All four goals in the game were scored on the power play. MSU scored three power-play goals in a game for the fourth time this season.
* JR F Rustyn Dolyny has had five of his six goals and 12 of his 15 points on special teams.
* FR F Kris Koski?s third-period power-play goal was his first career goal.
* SR C Shawn Horcoff had more than one point for the 11th time in 20 games this season. He leads the nation with 34 points, passing Michigan?s Mike Comrie (32) tonight. Horcoff has eight goals and 26 assists, just three points shy of his point total from all of last season (37).
* SO G Joe Blackburn made a career-high 37 saves, including 20 in the third period, his career high for a period.
* MSU killed off three Michigan power plays in the third period. The Wolverines finished one-for-seven on the PP in the game.
