Six Wrestlers Sign National Letter Of Intent

EAST LANSING, MICH. - Head coach Tom Minkel has announced the signing of six wrestlers to National Letters of Intent for the 2001-2002 season.
Nick Simmons(Williamston, Mich./Williamston)- Has complied one of the most remarkable records in high school wrestling history. He enters his fourth year of varsity competition at 119 pounds with a record of 159-0, including 156 of those victories by fall. Simmons, a three-time Michigan high school state champion and three-time Junior national champion, will wrestle at 125 pounds for the Spartans.
Darren McKnight(Hixson, Tenn./Red Bank)-Is a two-time Tennessee high school state champion at 119 pounds and was the 2000 NHSCA national champion at 125 pounds. He will wrestle at 133 pounds for MSU.
Anton Hall(Grand Rapids, Mich./Muskegon Junior College)-Was a Michigan high school state champion in 1999 for Grand Rapids Forest Hills North. Last year, he was the National Junior College runner-up at 165 pounds, losing in the finals to current Spartan Rashad Evans.Hall will wrestle for MSU at 165 pounds.
Jeffery Clemens(Bellbrook, Ohio/Bellbrook)-Was a finalist last year at the Ohio high school championships at 171 pounds. He was a 2000 Junior National All-American and will wrestle at 184 lbs. for MSU.
Conan Williams(Orange, Calif./Calvery Chapel)-Finished fourth in the California high school state championship in 2000 (171 pounds). He will wrestle for the Spartans at 197 pounds.
Max Lossen(Winona, Minn./Winona)-Was a 1999 Cadet National Champion. At 6-4 and 230 pounds, Lossen will compete at heavyweight for MSU.
