NOTES: MSU's five goals marked its biggest offensive output in 14 games, since a 6-3 win vs. Michigan Tech Dec. 29.
* MSU pulled within two points of first-place Michigan in the CCHA race. U-M tied Northern Michigan, 2-2.
* MSU's two goals within 20 seconds were its quickest back-to-back goals of the season.
* MSU extended its winning streak over UAF to nine games, outscoring the Nanooks 40-9 in that time.
* MSU has at least one power-play goal in each of its last seven games and is 11-for-43 on the PP in that time (25.6 percent). MSU tied its season high with four PPGs in the game (also accomplished Oct. 16 at Nebraska Omaha).
* SR C Shawn Horcoff's two assists give him 40 for the year, leading the nation in that category. It also gave him 50 points on the season (10-40-50). He has had a hand in 50 of MSU's 103 goals (48.5 percent), the highest percentage of any player in the nation. Horcoff has 16 multiple-point games in 33 outings this season.
* FR LW Steve Clark scored after sitting out the last five games as a healthy scratch. It was his second goal of the year and first since Oct. 15 at Nebraska Omaha (25 games without a goal).
* SO RW Adam Hall leads the CCHA with 20 goals on the year.
* FR D John-Michael Liles extended his point-scoring streak to three games (2-2-4 in that time).
* SR G Mike Gresl saw his first action of the season.
* MSU was outshot in the first period of a game for just the second time in its last 21 outings.
