Notes:
* MSU has won all 18 of its home first-round series since joining the CCHA in 1981-82. The lone year that MSU failed to advance to Joe Louis Arena in the CCHA Tournament was the one year the Spartans played their first-round series on the road (1990-91).
* MSU extended its unbeaten streak to five games (3-0-2). MSU is 7-1-2 in its last 10 games.
* FR C Troy Ferguson had his third goal of the weekend to open the scoring. Ferguson entered the weekend with two goals on the year.
* JR LW Sean Patchell extended his goal-scoring streak to three games, with 3-2-5 in that time.
* SR C Shawn Horcoff extended his point-scoring streak to eight games, with 2-10-12 in that time.
* SO D Andrew Hutchinson has 1-5-6 in his last six games. He has 11 of his 12 points since Christmas.
* MSU has scored at least one power-play goal in each of its last 13 games, its longest streak since a 24-game run from Nov. 23, 1991, to Feb. 22, 1992. MSU has had at least two PPGs in each of its last three games.
* JR RW Rustyn Dolyny has 8-7-15 totals in his last 13 games played, including a goal in each of the last three games.

* SR D Mike Weaver, just MSU's fifth two-time first-team All-CCHA selection, made his return tonight a week earlier than expected from a right knee sprain suffered Feb. 25 at Michigan. Weaver had missed MSU's last four games.
