Notes:
* SR C Shawn Horcoff registered his 100th career assist and 150th career point in the first period. He extended his point-scoring streak to 11 games. He finished with 51 assists on the season, tied for the 12th-best single-season total in MSU history and the most at MSU since Peter White had 51 in 1991-92. Horcoff, with three assists, recorded three or more points for the ninth time this year. He finished his career with 50 goals, 102 assists (21st on MSU's all-time list) and 152 points (33rd).
* JR RW John Nail has scored two of his nine career goals in Mariucci Arena. He scored the first Nov. 29, 1998, against Minnesota.
* FR G Ryan Miller's shutout streak ended at 192:41, breaking his own MSU school record of 191:54.
* Boston College's goal at 34 seconds of the second period ended MSU's streak of 17 consecutive successful penalty kills.
* SO D Andrew Hutchinson has 15 of his 16 points and all five goals after Christmas. He has 4-7-11 in his last nine games.
* MSU scored its most goals in an NCAA Tournament game since March 23, 1990, a 6-3 win over Boston University.
