Men's Gymnastics Finishes Sixth at NCAA Qualifier

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's gymnastics team placed sixth in the NCAA Championship qualifying meet on Thursday, March 30. The Spartans failed to qualify for the NCAA finals on Friday, March 31 while Oklahoma, California, BYU, Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State all qualified for the team finals of the NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championship, which are being held in Iowa City.
The Spartans' Brad Golden (Fr., Orlando, Fla.) finished ninth in the high bar (9.675), tied for 13th in the floor exercise (9.625) and tied for 10th in the vault (9.500). Sophomore Jonathan Plante (Easton, Pa.) earned fifth place on the parallel bars (9.900) and on the pommel horse (9.900). Plante also tied for 10th in the high bar with a score of 9.650.
This was Michigan State's final team meet of the season.
