MSU Hockey Fourth In Both National Polls

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State hockey team is in fourth place in this week's USA Today/American Hockey Magazine and U.S. College Hockey Online rankings, released Monday (Nov. 19).
The Spartans, coming off a pair of weekend shutouts at Munn Ice Arena against Miami, crept past Boston University into the fourth spot in the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine poll with 227 points. Minnesota, which visits Munn Ice Arena Sunday afternoon, maintained its no. 1 ranking, earning 283 points and 17 first-place votes. Denver, with 264 points and two first-place votes, and St. Cloud State, with 247 points, held onto second and third, respectively. Other CCHA schools in the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine poll are Nebraska-Omaha (eighth), Michigan (ninth), Northern Michigan (10th), Ohio State (14th) and Miami (receiving votes.)
MSU stayed in fourth place in the USCHO rankings - the Spartans earned 485 points. As in the USA Today poll, Minnesota, Denver and St. Cloud State are the top three teams according to USCHO voters. Boston University completes the top five. Other CCHA teams in the USCHO poll are Nebraska-Omaha (eighth), Northern Michigan (10th), Michigan (11th), Ohio State (14th) and Western Michigan and Miami (receiving votes).
