Men's Gymnastics Rounds Out Big Ten Championships.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - The third-ranked MSU men's gymnastics team competed individually at the 2001 Big Ten Championships, hosted by Penn State, on Saturday, March 25.
Sophomore Brad Golden (Orlando, Fla.) set the pace for the Spartans in the individual competition by taking first on the floor exercise (9.338), second on the vault (9.200), sixth on the parallel bars (8.750) and fifth on the high bar with a season-high 8.975. Golden placed in the most events for the Spartans.
Junior Jonathan Plante (Easton, Pa.), who is ranked first in the nation on the pommel horse, won the event with a 9.438. Leo Oka of Illinois finished second with a score of 9.125.
Senior Tom Housley (Jonesboro, Ga.) also competed for the Spartans and finished sixth on the vault with a score of 8.950.
The Spartans return to action when they travel to Ohio State for the NCAA Qualifier and Championships on Wednesday, April 4 through Saturday, April 7.
