EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State's Brian Maloney (Bassano, Alta.) and Ryan Miller (East Lansing, Mich.) have both earned Central Collegiate Hockey Association weekly honors for Feb. 25.
Maloney, a junior wing, is the league's Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a goal and four assists in MSU's weekend sweep of Miami. He had three assists and the game-winning goal with 50 seconds left in regulation in Saturday's 4-3 MSU triumph.
Miller, a junior goaltender, stopped 63 of 67 shots he faced on the weekend to earn CCHA Defensive Player of the Week recognition. He made 30 saves in a 3-1 win against the RedHawks Friday and turned aside 33 shots the following night.
MSU closes the regular season with a home-and-home series with Ferris State. Friday's game takes place at Ewigleben Ice Arena in Big Rapids, with the two teams returning to East Lansing for Saturday's rematch.
