I slept in on Sunday and went to Meijer to get a few things for the party. The boys came over to the house to watch the Super Bowl. They kind of filtered in over the course of the game and just hung out. I didn't really have a favorite team, but it was nice to see the Patriots win. They really came across as a close-knit team. I liked the introduction they had. Usually, they announce the starting line-up, but instead they announced the Patriots as a team. I thought it was pretty cool. I just liked watching the event. U2 was good on the halftime show. I thought the tribute they did to the people who lost their lives on September 11, was pretty neat.
With the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah, coming up in a week, obviously, I enjoy watching the hockey. I went to the 1988 Olympics when I was younger. My cousin Kevin (Miller) represented Team USA in that one. (My family) went up to Calgary and we went to a bunch of different events and got to see them first hand. I got to see the ski jump and the aerials. I like watching the skiing events like that.
This year every hockey team's roster has somebody significant on it, so it's just going to be fun watching all the games to see how they play out. This year former Spartan Mike York will be wearing be representing the U.S. Watching York is amazing. I talked to his parents last week when they came to a Blue Line Club gathering. It was pretty cool watching him in the All-Star game last Saturday. He's having quite the experience in the National Hockey League right now. He's doing real well.
