Emily Bastel Repeats As Indiana Invitational Titlist

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - MSU senior golfer Emily Bastel (Upper Sandusky, Ohio/Upper Sandusky) repeated as the medalist of the Indiana Invitational, firing a three-round score of 74-75-70-219. This is Bastel's second tournament win this season and second consecutive year she has captured first at the Indiana Invitational.
Bastel led MSU to a fifth-place finish after the team shot a 310-313-302-925. Michigan led the 14-team field after shooting a 312-306-301-919. Host Indiana shot four strokes better than the Spartans, carding a 303-305-313-921 for second place.
Senior Stacy Snider (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grandville) posted the second-best Spartan finish in a tie for 17th (81-79-74-234). Junior Allison Fouch (Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) carded a 78-79-78-235 to finish in a tie for 20th.
Junior Ann Marie Kersten (Oak Harbor, Ohio/Oak Harbor) tied for 32nd (78-83-80-241), junior Jessica Till (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger) fired an 82-80-81-243 to tie for 43rd, while sophomore Sarah Martin (Grosse Ile, Mich./Grosse Ile) rounds out the Spartan squad tied for 57th (80-84-83-247).
The next MSU women's golf action is April 20-21, when the Spartans travel to Columbus, Ohio, for the Lady Buckeye Invitational.
