* With two goals and an assist against Michigan, senior defensemen and All-American candidate John Michael Liles tied a career best for most points in a game with three. Liles' two-goal effort tied his career best.
* Liles' three-point night pushed him ahead of forward Jim Slater for the team lead in the category with 35.
* Liles joins David Booth, Colton Fretter, Mike Lalonde, Brian Maloney, and Jim Slater as the sixth Spartan player to record two or more goals in a game. MSU is now 5-0-1 when a player scores two or more goals.
* The 7,113 fans that packed Munn Ice Arena for Saturday's (Feb. 15) game against Michigan made up the third-largest crowd ever to watch an MSU hockey game at the venue.
* MSU is 9-3 at Munn Ice Arena this season.
* Freshman defenseman Corey Potter snapped a 20-game goal-scoring drought when he notched the game-winning goal at 8:27 of the third stanza giving him three on the season. Potter's last goal came on Oct. 24, 2002, in a 7-0 Spartan victory over Lake Superior State University.
* MSU's five goals is its best offensive output against Michigan since the Spartans posted a 5-3 victory against the Wolverines on Feb. 2, 2002.
* Slater extended his point streak to four games when he notched his 11th goal of the season at the 2:20 mark of the third period. During the streak, Slater has netted three goals and added three assists for six points.
* Sophomore netminder Matt Migliaccio's 32-save night marks the 12th time this season he has made 30 or more saves. This Spartans are 7-3-2 when he makes 30 or more saves.
