+ With 21 points tonight, Paul Davis reached double figure scoring numbers for the 18th time this season, and the first time since his streak of 15 consecutive double-figure scoring games was broken at Illinois on Feb. 10. With 12 rebounds, Davis recorded his second double-double of the season and his career.
+ Michigan State held Purdue to the lowest field goal percentage of any Spartan opponent this year, as the Boilermakers hit just 34.0 percent (17-of-50) of their shots tonight. Michigan had the previous low at 36.2 percent (Jan. 17).
+ Kelvin Torbert had 15 points tonight against Purdue, and was the only Spartan besides Davis to reach double figures. He surpassed the 800-point mark in his career at MSU; with 794 entering the game, he has 809 points as a Spartan.
+ Paul Davis' perfect performance at the free throw line (11-of-11) marked the second time this season he hit 1.000 of his free throws when shooting 10 or more in a game, and ties the MSU record for free throw percentage in a game. He was 14-for-14 from the charity stripe against Oklahoma (Dec. 6).
+ Michigan State is now 3-1 on the season when it scores between 60-69 points.
+ State is shooting .564 from the field (145-of-257) in the second half of Big Ten games in 2004. Over the last 10 games, MSU is shooting .574 (108-of-188) in the second half.
+ Tonight marked the ninth time this season that Michigan State has had nine players hit at least one field goal; State has not had 10 players hit a shot in a game all season.
+ In the last two games, Spartan opponents have hit just a combined three three-point shots. Purdue was 2-for-17 from beyond the arc tonight, while Minnesota was 1-7 on Feb. 14. Purdue's 11.8 percent from three-point range tonight is the worst three-point percentage of the season by a State opponent.
+ Chris Hill passed Pete Gent on the all-time scoring list at Michigan State, with nine points tonight. Hill currently has 1,150 points and is in 24th place.
+ State shot .923 (24-of-26) from the free throw line tonight, its best effort of the season. MSU hit .920 of its free throws (23-of-25) against Kentucky (Dec. 13).
+ Since the 1998-99 season, Michigan State is 33-6 in Big Ten action in the month of February.
+ MSU is shooting 48.9 percent from the field this year (569-of-1163), including 53.3 percent (302-of-567) in Big Ten games.
+ With a 9-3 record in the Big Ten, Michigan State is off to its best 12-game start in the conference since 2001 when it also opened with a 9-3 mark. The Spartans finished 2001 with a 13-3 record and captured a fourth straight Big Ten title, winning their last six conference games after a road loss at Illinois.
+ Purdue's 23 points in the first half marked the second-lowest first-half point total by a Spartan opponent this year. South Florida scored 19 points in the first stanza (Dec. 16), while Penn (Nov. 29) and Michigan (Jan. 17) also recorded 23 points in their first halves against MSU.
+ With the win tonight, Michigan State now owns a winning home record against every Big Ten team. The Spartans are 24-23 against Purdue in East Lansing, and have won eight of the last 11 games in the series, including the last five in a row at the Breslin Center.
+ Michigan State is 11-1 at home in 2003-04. Since the start of the season, MSU has won 84 of its 88 regular season games in Breslin, a winning percentage of .955, and is 44-2 (.957) at home since 1998-99.
+ Tonight marked the 95th consecutive sell-out for MSU in the Breslin Center (14,759).
