Opening statement...
"I thought the kids worked very hard. We hit the post halfway through the third period and, if that goes in, it puts us up 2-0 and the game is over. They're a good team, and I knew we had to score a second goal; we just couldn't get it in the net."
On goalie Jeff Lerg's pad save in the third period...
"He was playing well and he was sharp. Neither goalie had to make a lot of real tough saves, but that was a big save and you think that save is going to give you a lift, but it's tough to win a game 1-0."

On playing a team like Michigan State...
"That's a tough team to play against. We don't play against another team like that in our conference. They trap and it's tough play against. There's no space, there's no time, you turn the puck over, and it's a slugfest."
On the play of Wisconsin goaltender Brian Elliot...
"He was very solid. When you watch Brian there's not a lot of wasted motion. He stopped the ones he should've and that's all you can really ask of him. He was really effective I thought he did a nice job."

"A couple of guys stepped up in the locker room after the game and said they were sick of this, we haven't won in seven or eight games. I think it is time for everyone to look at themselves in the mirror. We played well for 40 or 50 minutes, we were energetic. Then for 10 minutes, they played desperate hockey and took it to us. We just have to come back tomorrow and everyone has to be responsible for there own play."
On what MSU needs to do tomorrow night...
"We need to play Michigan State hockey. We can't just go through the motions or rely on our talent. We just have to play hard hockey, up and down, and take care of our own zone."

On the game... "They just never stopped playing. That one went off the post and it could have been 2-0, but they took it to us in the last 10 minutes. We just didn't take care of our zone like we should have."
On the losing streak...
"We just have to work harder. I think we worked hard tonight, things just didn't go our way. It is a long season and we just need to put it all together, try to take some positives from the losses and make a run at this thing."

On his big save in the third period... "It was just one of those things were I got my stick out there and poke checked him, and because he didn't have much room to stickhandle, it forced him to put it on the ice."
On the third period...
"They really didn't get a ton of shots, but they were always coming hard and forechecking hard. We were able to get it out and into there zone a few times, but we just couldn't get any offense going."
