On the team's last game of the season Saturday...
It's a game that we're going to have to show a lot of heart and Spartan pride in. We're not going to a bowl game or anything so hopefully we can just carry it on to next year and get a big win in Happy Valley, which is not easy to do.
On playing in the 107,000-seat Beaver Stadium at Penn State...
We went down there two years ago and they were 3-7. The way their stadium was filled and the crowd was so loud you thought they were undefeated. That's great that the fans are always there for them, sticking with them through thick and thin. It's difficult to play in there every year whether they're winning or losing. The crowd gets into it and it's an atmosphere that is tough to play in, definitely one of the top stadiums in the Big Ten to play in. We're going to have to come in there focused, and we're obviously going to have to play mistake-free, or we're going to be in trouble.
On this game being the final game for the seniors...
It's pretty big. Obviously it hurt for us to lose at home last week, but all the good friends that I've made that are seniors right now, to dress up with them one more time will be a good experience. Hopefully we can get a win, but it's not very good to end on a losing note. Like I said I'm just going to fight with these guys one more time and get a victory.
Sophomore quarterback Brian Hoyer
On possibly starting for injured quarterback Drew Stanton...
Until they figure out what is wrong with Drew, I have to prepare to be the starter this week and see what the doctors have to say about him. It's the same kind of practices this week. Usually we just go ones and twos, so I have been taking the same plays with the twos, but now I go with the ones to get the reps.
On this possibly being the first start of his career...
Anytime you can get your first start you have to be excited about it, especially to get to go into Penn State and play there. I was there my red-shirt freshman year, and it was extremely loud. It'll be a lot fun.
On what this game means for the team...
Obviously we can't go to a bowl game, but you can't just give up on the season. We have one more game we can work on, work on the little things, and go out there and get some game experience. The season's not over, but in a sense you're using that game experience for next year.
On the offensive talent coming back next year...
It's loaded with talent. The offensive line shuffle this year has given everyone a chance to play. All those guys will have experience. We have three great running backs and a bunch of receivers. We have Terry Love, Devin Thomas, T. J. Williams, Carl Grimes, and two tight ends coming back. When the new coach comes in we just need to learn the system because that's going to be the toughest part. The offensive talent pool coming back is tremendous.
