Spartan Basketball Takes The Madness To Munn

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's and women's basketball teams will celebrate the official start of the 2007-08 season on Friday, Oct. 12 with Madness at Munn." This year, the Spartans are taking Midnight Madness out of the Breslin Center and across the street to Munn Ice Arena, home to the 2007 NCAA Champion Michigan State hockey team. Admission is free.
Doors to Munn will open at 9 p.m. Fans are asked to enter through the east (across from Spartan Stadium) and west (across from the Breslin Center) doors. After 8 p.m., parking will be free in the following lots: Lot 79 (south side of Spartan Stadium), Lot 61 (east side of Spartan Stadium) and Lot 62 (north side of Spartan Stadium). To accomodate an anticipated large turnout, there will be two big screens on Munn Field, providing a live feed of the events inside the arena.
The event begins with autographs for Spartan fans on the Munn concourse. The formal program will feature the introduction of the men's and women's basketball teams. The evening will also include performances by the Spartan Marching Band, Michigan State cheerleaders, MSU dance team and Sparty. The evening will conclude with the men's basketball team on the court.
