
Wrestling Signs Two To National Letters Of Intent

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State wrestling head coach Tom Minkel announced today that Josh Harper (Mishawaka, Ind./Mishawaka) and Dan Osterman (St. Johns, Mich./St. Johns) have signed National Letters of Intent to wrestle at MSU beginning next season. Harper and Osterman bring a combined five individual state championships to the Green and White and both have over a 3.4 GPA.
"We are very pleased and excited to have these outstanding young men join our program," Minkel said. "They are both very successful on the mat and in the classroom. We are looking forward to their arrival in East Lansing and believe they will have an immediate impact on our program."
Harper, who will wrestle for the Spartans at 133 pounds, enters his senior season with a 141-1 career record. Harper is a three-time Indiana state champion and enters the season looking to go undefeated in his final two years of high school competition.
Osterman, who will wrestle at either 133 or 141 for the Spartans, enters his senior season with a career record of 160-7 and is coming off of an undefeated 52-0 junior year. Osterman is a three-time Michigan state finalist and a two-time state champion. He also placed third at the 2008 USA Folkstyle National Championships.
