Gymnastics Signs Four to National Letters of Intent

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State gymnastics head coach Kathie Klages has announced the program's initial signings for the recruiting class of 2010. The incoming class includes Sarena Bumbarger (Seminole, Fla.), Laura Jollie (St. Paul, Minn.), Dani Levy (New Port Richey, Fla.) and Kelsey Mazur (LaGrange, Ill.).
"I am pleased with the talent level of the 2010 Spartan gymnastics class that recently signed their National Letters of Intent," said Klages. "Laura Jollie and Dani Levy are the powerful ones, while Sarena Bumbarger and Kelsey Mazur bring the finesse of the group. Together, they compliment each other very nicely and bring much needed depth to our program."

A Level 10 Regional Qualifier in both 2008 and 2009 ... Qualified for the Level 10 Nationals in 2009 ... Ranked in the top-1 percent of her graduating class (5th out of 500) ... A member of the Spanish National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta.
Personal: Born Oct. 8, 1991 to Tim and Mary Beth Bumbarger ... Plans on majoring in kinesiology at MSU.

Finished first at the 2007 Region 4 Championships in the vault ... Placed second on the bars at the Rising Stars Invitational in 2009 ... Qualified for the National Invitational Tournament after her 11th-place finish in the all-around at the Region 4 Championships in 2009.
