EAST LANSING, Mich. -- - Michigan State hockey has some exciting promotions planned for this Saturday's hockey game against Bowling Green. A teddy bear toss will benefit local children's charities around the greater Lansing area, and the Chuck-a-Puck promotion will also be held during the second intermission. Fans are encouraged to bring a new stuffed animal to Saturday's game as well as stop by the Shoot for a Cure tables and purchase their pucks to enjoy all of the promotional activities planned.
Saturday's game will feature a pair of promotions that benefit local charities that are near and dear to the hearts of the Michigan State hockey program. Fans were encouraged to bring a new stuffed animal to the game, and after MSU scores its first goal, fans should toss the stuffed animal on the ice. The stuffed animals will be collected and distributed to children's charities in the greater Lansing area, which will include the Sparrow pediatric ward and Brandon's Defense, which works to improve quality of life for children with cancer.
Saturday is also a Chuck-a-Puck game, and pucks are available for purchase on the concourse through the first two periods. During the second intermission, the fans will chuck their purchased pucks onto the ice, and the person whose puck comes closest to the center ice dot will win a prize package courtesy of MSU Athletics.
At several home games this season, there have been "theme nights" where fans are encouraged to get into the spirit. Saturday's game will be Christmas Costume night, and a prize package complements of MSU Athletics will be awarded to best costume contest winners. Upcoming costume contests will be on Jan. 9, (80's night), followed by "Hockey Hair" night on Jan. 22.
Continuing this season as well will be the post-game autograph sessions. At the conclusion of Saturday's game Bobby Jarosz will be on the northwest concourse in front of the concession stand to autograph that game's program poster.
