EAST LANSING, Mich. - The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) and Elite Level Sport Marketing (ELSM) have announced that Michigan State was named the winner of the 2013-14 Better Than Good Graphic Award for its schedule poster.
Other categories included Highlight Reel, Paramount Promotion, Pure Entertainment, and Solid Service. The Best of Brand Awards recognize programs that have used graphics, promotions, and videos to market themselves effectively during the season.
"The participation in the Annual Achievement categories this year was outstanding," said ELSM CEO Coyte Cooper. "The winners in these categories differentiated themselves by turning out unique products that built the brand of their programs."
Michigan State captured the Better Than Good Graphics Best of Brand award, an honor that recognizes the program with the best branded graphic that engages fans via the internet and social media. MSU's sleek design helped the Spartans edge out Iowa and Western State Colorado for top honors.
"We are very proud of how well the poster turned out and are glad the wrestling community felt it was worthy to be in the competition," said Michigan State assistant coach Sam Wendland. "Thanks to all of our supporters for helping us throughout the Battle Round competition, and for all that they do for Michigan State University."
