Jasmine Lumpkin Leaves Michigan State Women's Basketball Program

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State University women's basketball player Jasmine Lumpkin has elected to leave the program effective immediately, citing personal reasons; head coach Suzy Merchant announced on Tuesday.
Lumpkin, a freshman guard/forward from Bolingbrook, Illinois, has played in all 15 games this season, starting 14 times. She averaged 5.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.
"We appreciate Jasmine's contributions, and we wish her well in her future endeavors," Merchant said.
Coach Merchant will have no further comment on this matter.
Michigan State women's basketball returns home to the Breslin Center for a pair of games this week. The Spartans take on Illinois on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. MSU concludes the week with a nationally televised game against on Sunday, Jan. 18 against Iowa on ESPN2.
