MSU Men's Golf Prepares for Talis Park Challenge

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State men's golf team will continue action its spring break action, traveling to Naples, Fla., for the Talis Park Challenge hosted by Ball State University. The three-round tournament will begin on Sunday, March 15 and will conclude Monday, March 16.
The tournament will be held on the par-17, 6,891 yard Talis Park Golf Club. Competition will begin with 36 holes on Sunday, before concluding with 18 holes on Monday. Both days will begin at 8:30 a.m. (ET).
"This is another important week for the team. We have had a solid week thus far, and we need to finish strong. Talis Park is a good golf course for us and the field is strong. It is a great opportunity for us to continue to move forward," MSU head coach Casey Lubahn.
Joining the Spartans in the field will be host Ball State, Akron, Eastern Michigan, Florida Gulf Coast, Big Ten-rival Indiana, No. 13 LSU, Miami (Ohio), Northern Illinois, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Toledo, No. 5 Vanderbilt, Wichita State and Xavier.
Senior Jon Finley, junior Mitch Rutledge and sophomores Sam Weatherhead, Gareth Lappin and Charlie Netzel will compete for the Spartans. Weatherhead is coming off his first career win at the MSU-hosted Colleton River Collegiate.
Michigan State finished in the third place at the Colleton River Collegiate with a 19-over par 883 (290-295-298).
