Michigan State's 27-point victory, 92-65 , marked the second-consecutive game the Spartans have outscored an opponent by 25 points or more. It is was first time since Feb. 4, 2009, and Feb. 7, 2009, against Minnesota and Iowa that MSU outscored back-to-back Big Ten foes by at least 25 points.
The 27-point margin was MSU's largest Big Ten road win since downing Penn State, 91-64, on Jan. 20, 2007. The last 27-point win in conference play for the Spartans came when they beat Nebraska by 28 points, 62-34, on Feb. 25, 2012.
Sunday's 92-65 victory was the 41st time Michigan State has outscored a Big Ten opponent by 20 or more points under Tom Izzo.
Denzel Valentine returned to action after missing the past four games due to arthroscopic surgery on Dec. 21. Valentine checked in at 16:24 in the first half. He finished with 10 points, four rebounds and four assists.
Bryn Forbes paced the Spartans for the third-straight outing and fourth in the past five. Forbes finished with 20 points. He went 6-of-8 from range, marking the 107th game of his career with at least one 3-pointer.
Gavin Schilling scored a season-high 13 points to go with a season-best seven boards. After missing the season's first 11 games due to turf toe, Schilling has averaged 9.7 points per game in the last three efforts.
Matt Costello led the Spartans in rebounding for the ninth time this season. His game-high nine rebounds marked the fifth-consecutive game leading MSU.
Eron Harris scored in double-figures for the fifth-straight game, recording 13 at Penn State. Harris' streak is the second-longest active streak on the team behind Denzel Valentine's 10.
Tum Tum Nairn Jr. led MSU in assists for the seventh time this season. The Spartans are 6-1 when Nairn Jr. paces the team in the category.
Marvin Clark Jr. chipped in nine points and five rebounds, matching his season high set on Dec. 9 against Maryland Eastern Shore.
Michigan State scored 90 or more points for the fourth time this season. The four games is the most since hitting the mark on seven occasions in 2013-14.
The Spartans shot 50 percent or better from the floor for the seventh time this year. MSU went 35-of-70 at Penn State, including knocking down 10-of-20 from behind the arc.
The 70 field goal attempts were the most this season by Michigan State. The previous high was 66 against Eastern Michigan on Nov. 23.
Six turnovers was a season-low for Michigan State, bettering the seven committed against Boston College on Nov. 26.
