
Meet the Spartans: Alex Hrisopoulos

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State wrestling team will feature a freshman each week in order to "Meet the Spartans" leading up to the 2016-17 season.
This week freshman Alex Hrisopoulos (Shelby Township, Mich./Oxford High School) sat down with msuspartans.com to answer some questions.
Why did you choose to wrestle at Michigan State?
The incredible atmosphere of the whole campus and team.
What are you most excited about as you begin your Spartan wrestling career?
Getting better. I can't wait to compete at a high collegiate level and see myself improve.
When did you first start wrestling?
I started wrestling in 2nd grade.
Favorite wrestling memory?
Wrestling in two individual state championship matches, even though I didn't win, the experiences were great and motivate me for the future.
What's your major at Michigan State and why?
Electrical Engineering. I have always been interested in engineering growing up so that is the best fit for me.
Who has taught you the most about wrestling growing up?
Coach Jeff Jordan from St. Paris Graham Ohio. My dad would take me to his camps 2-3 times a year.
What superhero power would you have if you could choose one?
The ability to fly. I could avoid traffic and get places way faster.
Favorite Meal?
Macaroni and Cheese with goldfish crackers.
Favorite TV show?
Family Guy / River Monsters
Favorite thing to do besides wrestling?
Fishing
