EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State gymnastics hosts its annual Green and White meet Saturday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. inside Jenison Field House. The intrasquad meet is free admission to fans with doors opening at 12:30 p.m.
The Green & White meet will provide Spartan fans with a first glimpse at the 2019 gymnastics team in a meet-like setting. The team has been split and the meet will be a chance for the gymnasts to practice routines in front of judges before the regular season officially opens in January.
"We've been spending the past couple weeks on improving our endurance and focusing on details while developing depth on each event," MSU head coach Mike Rowe said. "This will be a great opportunity to evaluate our performances and adjust or refine our strategy for next month. The team is thrilled to get into the competitive arena and show all of our fans they have a lot to be excited about this season."
Immediately following the meet, the team will move upstairs to unveil the renovations to the gymnastics training center. Spartan Fund will be hosting a reception with light refreshments provided and the team will be available to sign autographs.
The MSU gymnastics "Perfect-10 Boosters" will be on-hand selling Spartan merchandise, along with Spartan Booster and Junior Spartan Gymnast memberships. Junior Spartan memberships include admission to all home meets this season, an autographed poster, a Spartan gymnastics t-shirt and one raffle entry at every home meet attended for a chance to win MSU gymnastics prizes.
