Lincoln, Neb. – Junior guard Cassius Winston (Detroit, Mich./University of Detroit Jesuit) scored a career-high 29 points and No. 6 Michigan State hit nine free throws in the final minute to hang on for a 70-64 win over Nebraska at Pinnacle Bank Arena Thursday night.
Junior forward Nick Ward (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) had his second-straight double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while redshirt senior Kenny Goins (Troy, Mich./Warren Mott) added seven points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
